I've been following your blog for it paralleled a bit of my granddaughter's pregnancy. But not in this. She's a youth minister's wife and is not employed. But I have been, and received such a RIF notice. It is stunning, in the true sense of that phrase. The best advice I have is to breathe deeply, relax for a few days. Nothing will happen for a while. Enjoy a bit of winter quiet -- perhaps Bible study and prayer. He may be opening new doors as you do so. May this be a blessed Christmas for you.

OMG, that is one hell of a way for them to say Happy Holidays!
That really bites, I am so sorry. I have known way too many people that have lost their jobs this year.
I wish I knew what else to say other than that really bites.

I was popping over to say thanks for stopping by, but somehow that is not appropriate for this post!
I am sorry that you have to deal with this and the holidays at the same time. I'll keep you in my prayers. :)
Oh no! I'm so sorry. I can't understand why businesses have to do this during the holidays. It sucks.
